Walter Jr.’s Cerebral Palsy on the show was embellished, meaning RJ had to learn how to walk on crutches and slur his speech to create a more dramatic version of his own disability.

In order to bring awareness to his own issues with bullying and prejudice, Mitte has engaged in public speaking and serves as the official Ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Hospitals for Children and is the celebrity face for the #CutTheBull campaign launched October 2014in support of children with disabilities, much like himself and was a featured panelist at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival discussing diversity.He was also one of the presenters for Channel 4 (UK), reporting on the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He’s also involved with SAG-AFTRA as a member of the union's Performers with Disabilities Committee.

NIKO PEPAJ is an Albanian American actor and model from Detroit. At 14, Niko moved to Southern California and got his start as the face of several national campaigns such as PacSun, Supercuts, and Sketchers. Shortly after, Niko booked a role in Lifetime’s THE PROTECTOR and a lead role in the MTV horror special, MY SUPER PSYCHO SWEET SIXTEEN: PART 3. Niko continued to grow on television, with notable appearances as the mysterious “Frankie” in ABC Family’s BUNHEADS and “Paxton” on ABC's HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER. His role as “Paxton” garnered tremendous international media attention (E! Niko has also guest starred on Amazon’s BOSCH and appeared in the independent comedy feature 420.
